Five Question Friday #5

Happy Friday!

Times flies when you are having fun. Some bloggers do a fit Mommy Friday post. My personal goal this spring is not to exercise. My goal is to do 1 hour of yard work almost every day. Yesterday, I raked some leaves and swept back the white shells that the snow shovels threw all over the road. In just a few weeks, my yard will be ready for pretty flowers to bloom.

Now for one of my favorite days to blog. Five question Friday! I do wish some of my girlfriends would play. Even if you don't blog, you can post your answers in the comments section of my blog. It's like a really neat way to dip your toe in the blogging waters and see if you can swim.

My Little Life

If you already have a blog just copy and paste this into your blog and link up to the very sweet MamaM's blog. Then you can add the McLinky code to your site. If you can figure it out, let me know.

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

5. What is your most sentimental possession?

Here's mine...

1
. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?

Of course, this morning in the mirror. I actually have 20 people that really exist and follow my blog. Does that make me a celeb? I didn't think so either.
I have to admit it. I am related to one of them. I really want to tell you if you are reading this, I appreciate you.

Back to the question, this is silly. I actually was at Aaarnold and Maria Shriver's wedding. No, I wasn't invited. I was one of those silly youths behind the police line craning my neck trying to see the beautiful people.
When his limo came by I saw his rather large hand wave to the crowd. I did see him getting out of the limo. I finally became discouraged with my height, walked back to my apartment to get a milk crate to stand on. By the time I came back, it was over.

I'm not the type to worship famous people. I realize who we all are in my Creator's eyes. In the Bible it says God is no respecter of persons. He wants us to treat everyone like they are special.

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

This winter we used a wood stove here, it has been about 78 lately. I finally have gotten used to it. When we pay for heat, 68 is the norm.

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

What dust?

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

I was a floating teacher for Head Start before I gave birth to my last 3 boys. I was temporarily filling in as the lead teacher at a center that was overwhelming. I was using curriculum that I hated, trying to manage a classroom of the most wildest bunch of hooligans very
challenging children and trying to figure out everyone's name. I remember giving myself pep talks on the drive to work. "It's just a job, smile, pretend it doesn't bother you. You need the money. Pretend you are in a skit." The scary head lice incident was the icing on the cake. I lived for the weekends back then. Thankfully, I was transferred to a different location with less hours, fun co-workers and a great classroom. Amazingly, it turned into my favorite job.

5. What is your most sentimental possession?

This is where the wierdo factor comes in. My 12 year-old just told me he wanted to become a funeral director. It is obvious that somewhere in our genetic make up there is a death doesn't creep us out trait.

My mom passed away in December of 2008. I inherited all of her clothes. I treasure them. Now before you go thinking I walk around in polyester and start pitying me, don't. Mom's wardrobe was a step up for me. She loved cotton, comfort, girly accents and catalog shopping. I am currently wearing her red top and gray vest. She had excellent taste and she used to buy the same top in 3 or 4 colors. I have so many nice clothes. The only problem is if I gain weight, I'm on my own. It is actually comforting to have these sweet reminders of her. When I get compliments, I think of Mom. Mom who has passed on her classy good taste to me. Thanks Mom, You Da' Best!

Have a great weekend!

Celeb siting: Met Dennis Weaver when I was 13. Have you ever seen the movie "Duel"?
Temp at home: 68 on my side of the house, 75 on my parents' side.
Notice Dust?: Yes, and it makes me feel right at home. My prioritizing of the dusting task is at the bottom of the list, as it should be. And by the way, I don't believe your answer to this one!
Worst job: Papa Ginos Pizza as a teen - very greasy.
Most Sentimental object: I am very sentimental towards all my "stuff", but my family photos are most precious.

@Kate, welcome, thanks for not thinking I'm a weirdo yet. I am happy to have you.

@Shirley Congratulations! You win the prize! I was going to post an incentive for being the first player in the comment section, but I figured why beg? You win a special book from the Birthday Box. It is called Becoming a Woman of Excellence by Cynthia Heald. You probably don't need it but you can always regift it!
